INSECT, Week 1, Day 2
Today was the first full day of building our giant insect project! We started lovingly calling our structure "Frank-insect" because it has so many parts that remind us of so many different insects. Yesterday we split into three groups and designed the head, first segment of the thorax, and the abdomen. Today these three teams collaborated together and tried really hard with all of the building and designing - two of our goals of Tinkering Camp!
The team building the insect head integrated moving parts into their structure today!
The thorax team created the main structure and found ways to stabilize it by adding triangles.
The abdomen team built BIG and starting fabricating some appendages for the insect!
Sometimes a "partner push" on the drill helps. Building is so much fun!
We are excited to keep working on our projects tomorrow!
