2012 Sessions Announced!
After our hiatus last year (to get the K-12 program at Brightworks started), we are coming back like gangbusters with FIVE sessions of Tinkering School this year:
* Ages 8-11:
Session 1: July 1-7
Session 3: July 29-August 4
Session 4: August 12-18
* Ages 12-17:
Session 2: July 15-21
Session 5: August 19-25
Note that we swapped the ages for Sessions 2 and 4, for the Seniors whose schools start mid-August. Find all the details on our What Is Tinkering School page.
To apply, please fill out an Application Form. Note the deadline for completed forms is February 12, 2012; confirmations will be sent out by Feb 19.
NOTE: Thanks to those who pointed out the dates shown were incorrect. Tinkering School actually runs from Sunday-Saturday - all of the dates have been updated to reflect that. Also, the deadline has been pulled in a week so notifications go out a tad sooner.

Brightworks is an innovative new K-12 alternative school, located in San Francisco, and dedicated to the principles of hands-on, engagement-based learning.
Motivated by the success of participants in Tinkering School to build big things, Gever wanted to translate this enthusiasm, focus, and sense of accomplishment from a one-week summer camp experience to the traditional school day.

Hello Australia!
A group of educators from Adelaide is visiting Brightworks to get immersed in their pedagogy. They also did a Tinkering Immersive with Gever, in order to open a Tinkering School is Australia. Think of all the projects they can do with wide-open-spaces and kangaroos!
