Space! - Session 8 - MONDAY
The Tinkerers of Junior Day Camp are traveling to space this week!
But first, we had some important business to take care of. Because this is the first time that this group of humans has ever been in the same room and been asked to work on the same project, we had to get to know how to safely interact in the space and with each other.
To do that, we made some group agreements and also spent the morning learning about some new tools!

Evan demonstrates how to change the bit in the quick release drills during drill practice so that he can drive some screws into the Letter A he was planning to construct.
Human funnel! This is a new silly game that erupted during lunch today. While some Tinkerers ran laps around our lunch area, others helped remind the runners to share the sidewalk by making a funnel.
Another silly game -- Star Feet? I don't know. It was pretty rad though.
After eating lunch and going to the park, we began a design session for our two projects this week: Saturn, and a Space Probe!
During the design session, we took some time to get all those awesome ideas about what things look like and do out of our heads and on to a paper where other people can also see them. Izek is intently focusing on his ideas for what Saturn should look like.
Piper jots down ideas and starts to synthesize all of the designs of the group into a plan for the afternoon Saturn build.
The Space Probe team figures out if building a space probe larger than two tables will fulfill the Tinkering School goal of "building something bigger than yourself." They decided that the size of the two tables would be a good starting point.
After deciding on a size, Amanda helped the Space Probe team figure out a plan for the afternoon, complete with job duties, supplies needed, and team assignments.
