Homes that Move - Day 3 - Week 1 (Mark Day School)

Wednesday is a big building day around here. We have our design set, and we have a plan to get it made. We just need to get it done, and we spend two long build sessions doing exactly that — getting things made!  If there was a tool of the day, it would be the circular saw. We cut a lot of plywood walls, roof decks and floors with our new 12 volt circular saw, and things really started taking shape.

Wednesday is also a really big day for some of the finer points of camp. Practicing things like asking “how can I help,” and finding ways to work with people that have different ideas on the “how” of getting things done. During reflection at the end of the day, we had lots of tinkerer appreciations for amazing teamwork. One tinkerer was so appreciative of his team he proclaimed it the “best team imaginable.”

In short, it was a good day.
