Putting the Pieces Together!

We filled Wednesday up with so much tinkering! Everywhere you turned in the building kids were solving all sorts of problems on their own, with a friend, and with a whole team.

The  Tractor team was ready to figure out how to attach the GIANT wheels, when they realized that the wheels themselves needed to be made stronger.  While some kids started working on that problem - others constructed a bench to ride on.

We had a Barn raising first thing in the morning! Lots of kids all gathered together; some ready with clamps, others with drills and they formed a Barn!

After the walls were up, a few kids worked with Evan to make a door, while the others started some heavy thinking to design the roof!

The barn raisers take a physical break, while they examine how our roof is made and see if they can copy some design tricks.

The Chicken Coop reached a point where there were so many little problems to solve it was hard to pick one!

The tinkerers are also solving problems like how to work when the person that was helping them before is taking a snack break.  One camper was upset because they wanted to work, but their drill mate was nowhere to be found. After thinking about it for awhile they realized and came back to report that, "My partner is (Name), but my team is everyone!" then happily joined back into the flow of making things with others.

The steady, productive buzz in the building is exciting. We can't wait to see what problems are overcome on Thursday!
