2D to 3D - Session 4 - Day 1

We had a great start to the week at Tinkering School Day Camp today! The day began with introductions and making an agreement about how to work together during the week. Then we did tool training to learn to use the clamps, drills and chop saw! We took a break in the middle of the day to get some fresh air and have some lunch in the park. In the afternoon we had the project theme reveal! This week we will be making 3D interpretations of 2D images! The tinkerers examined a gallery of well-known paintings and illustrations and voted to determine which three we will use. The three that we chose are: Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci, Water Lilies and the Japanese Bridge by Claude Monet, and The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Katsushika Hokusai. The tinkerers designed plans for each project and have already started building. It's going to be a great week!
